TED CONSTANT CENTER CONTINUES TO RANK AS ONE OF THE WORLD’S TOP VENUES ACCORDING TO POLLSTAR MAGAZINE’S 2017 YEAR END REPORT

Norfolk, VA (January 9, 2018) – Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, providers of Venue Management at Old Dominion University’s Ted Constant Convocation Center, is proud to announce that the Constant Center is ranked #1 among venues on a college campus and #7 worldwide with a seating capacity under 10,000 seats, according to Pollstar Magazine’s 2017 year end report.

This is the second year in a row the Constant Center has ranked #1 on a college campus. Among venues within the state of Virginia, the Constant Center ranked #3 and was the only arena ranked in the Hampton Roads area. Additionally, the Constant Center is ranked #176 worldwide and #100 in the US among venues regardless of capacity. 

Pollstar Magazine is the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry. The year end report features the top tours, promoters, venues and more during the 2017 calendar year based on worldwide ticket sales, including concerts and traveling shows.

During the 2017 season, the Constant Center welcomed a diverse lineup of events including top talent such as Green Day, Ringo Starr, and a sold-out UFC Fight Night. Other noteworthy events included performances by Rick Ross, Paramore, XSCAPE, Old Dominion, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Charlie Wilson, Fantasia and Jonny Gill and annual touring events such as the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters, Festival of Laughs with Mike Epps, and Garden Bros. Circus.  

The Constant Center will continue to bring top talent to Hampton Roads in 2018. Upcoming events include chart-toppers Justin Moore and Dylan Scott on Feb. 9, the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters on Feb. 10, Platinum artists Casting Crowns on Mar. 10, Ireland’s music sensation Celtic Woman on Mar. 23, the all-new interactive live concert experience Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour Apr. 14 and Grammy winner Chris Tomlin May 6.
