ODU Women's Basketball
The Lady Monarchs are well known for their success on the basketball court. They are the proud owners of 3 National championships: 1979 in the AIAW, 1980 in the AIAW, and 1985 in the NCAA. They are currently a part of the Colonial Athletic Association and lay claim to the past 17 of 19 CAA Championships.
Former Lady Monarch assistant coach Karen Barefoot has recently been named Old Dominion’s new head women’s basketball coach. Barefoot becomes just the sixth head coach in Lady Monarch basketball history and first new hire since 1987. Barefoot, the school’s first Native American head coaching hire, takes over a program that has reached postseason play in 19 of its last 20 years and has won 929 games, the third most all-time in women’s basketball history.

Student Ticket Information:
Following a successful online ticketing process for Old Dominion University students for home football games this fall, students will be able to utilize the same process for tickets for home men’s and women’s basketball games.
Student tickets for basketball games will be available online two weeks prior to the scheduled home games at www.odusports.com/tickets or www.coxtix.com. Students will click on to the “Buy Tickets Now” button, and then click “Student Tickets”. If students are not already registered from the football process, a password must be created after submitting their UIN number.
Multiple games will be available in each registration period for students to select. In addition, students may purchase one (1) guest ticket per game at $7 for men’s games and $5 for women’s games, and utilize the print at home feature for these tickets. Guest tickets are limited to 200 per each home game.
Upon completion of the ticket registration process, students will receive an email confirmation that their game tickets have been reserved. Students must bring their ODU ID’s to the games to be swiped for admission to the contests. If students do not receive an email confirmation, their transaction has not been completed and they should contact the ODU Athletic Ticket office at 757 683 4444 for more information.
